"The Love Show", Mixed Media Art Exhibit by Teresa Bosko Carlin

Opening Reception: Saturday February 4, 8pm (runs through February 25th)

Teresa Bosko Carlin received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University in 1988. Her work has been exhibited in galleries around the country and locally. She is the former owner of Studio Lulu, an interior design store that was located in downtown Kent back in 1999. She is also responsible for the large scale sculptural relief that adorns the northeast wall of Kent's Historic Silk Mill located on River Street.

Having received many accolades throughout her career, she felt compelled to "give something back to the community". She therefore decided to donate any money she earned from this exhibit to a local charity.

Proceeds from art sales benefit Helping Hands, which is an Akron based non-profit organization that has helped more than 600 families in Northeast Ohio since it was founded in 2003. Headed by Phyllis Byrd, this organization strives to assist families who wish to be self sufficient but do not have the resources to do so. Cancer patients, displaced hurricaine survivors who have landed in the area, and abused individuals are just a few of the types of people that Helping Hands serves.
