The 2nd Battle of Standing Rock Music Competition

Battle of Standing Rock II

After a grueling night of stiff competition, congratulations goes out to

1st Place: Drenalin
2nd Place: Tropidelic
3rd Place: The Zou

After six hours of the best live rock-n-roll music that Northeastern
Ohio had to offer last Saturday night, the Battle Of Standing Rock II
was over.

What it started on February 26th in Kent, Ohio was a monster Battle of
the Bands. When it started, there were 54 bands. Then, round after
round, it was narrowed down to 8 bands that went head to head Saturday
night at the historic Kent Stage in Downtown Kent.

The night began with last years Battle of Standing Rock winner from
Kent, "The Doctor Teeeth" and they rocked the Kent Stage, setting the
bar high for those coming after them. There were eight bands in the
finals: A Grand Design, Social Zero, Drenalin, The Go-Go Joes, Astrovan,
The Zou, Tropidelic and The Dagger Rebellion. They all brought their
A-game and played killer original music. When the smoke cleared at the
end of the battle. The Zou came in third place, Tropidelic came in
second, and the winner, from Cleveland, was Drenalin.

This was Drenalin's second year in Stand Rock Cultural Arts’ Battle of
the Bands. They came to rock and rock they did blowing away everyone
with in the walls of The Kent Stage. Their prize package starts with 15
hours of Professional Studio Time at Moondog Recording Studio in Kent
Ohio. The next prize was from Audio-Technica, 1MB/DK6 6 piece drum pack
of mic's, 2 MB2K Instrument Mics and 3 MB3K Vocal Mics. That goes along
with a Complete Pro CD Package from including; 1000 real
CD's, Complete Insert plus CD printing, all retail ready. And to finish
the package is a CD release party at Club Khameleon in downtown Kent.

We at Standing Rock Cultural Arts want to thank all of the Kent
community that made this battle of the bands possible. And yes there
will be a Battle of Standing Rock III in 2008. See you then.
